The Ultimate Guide to Doodles NFTs: Everything You Need to Know

Within just a few months, the Doodles project became an NFT favorite. Among the top PFP-ic (profilepture) collections, the colorful line-drawn characters rank high in popularity and sales volume.

What is the Doodles NFT collection?

Designed by Evan Keast, Scott Martin, and Jordan Castro in Doodles, this 10,000-generation NFT was created by a computer. Each member of the team is known by a different "working alias," such as Tulip, Burnt Toast, and Poopie. The legendary NFT project known as CryptoKitties was launched by Keast and Castro before Doodles, making them well-known in the NFT community. Meanwhile, Martin was developing his own creative brand within the NFT space and minting his own pieces.

Original artwork created by Martin was featured in Doodles, which features hundreds of unique visual characteristics. Like CryptoPunks, Bored Apes, and Cool Cats, the Doodles collection combines these individual traits.

Doodles ecosystem contains a variety of species, such as humans, pets, pickles, apes, flames with sentient characteristics, and skeletons. In Doodles NFTs, rarity is determined by their traits, as it is with nearly all generative avatar collections. RaritySniffer's unofficial rankings show skeletons, cats, aliens, apes, and mascots are the most desirable traits, despite the Doodles team not releasing a list of which traits are rarest and most common.

Doodles was launched on October 17, 2021, by Keast, Castro, and Martin for 0.123 ETH per mint. It was considered to be a relatively high price at the time. Doodles was the first PFP project to implement mint prices above 0.1ETH, but the founding team decided on this price point to ensure the initial treasury was 420ETH.

A PFP project had never attempted something like this before during the rollout of the Doodles project. When membership reached just over 1,000, the Doodles team closed the Discord a month before minting started. By preventing new members from joining the project's community, the community became even more exclusive.

A select few received priority minting access through this decision, which received mixed reviews. It was seen as an innovative way to reward early supporters of NFT despite the project's growing following as the Doodles mint date approached.

Building a community for Doodles NFTs

Doodles were restocked shortly after they sold out, bringing with them a whole new community of collectors and enthusiasts. Doodles is one of the hottest PFP NFT communities, with influencers and celebrities joining as collectors.

Despite a number of avatar projects claiming to be community-centered, Doodles seems centered around empowerment from the beginning. Using Doodles as an example, the roadmap becomes collaborative if everyone owns a Doodle and votes on community proposals. The project's pro-artist culture and voting system have made this aspect increasingly evident in recent months.

Community Voting

Because the Doodles ecosystem is basically one DAO, every Doodles owner has a say in what happens. It was stated early on that 1 Doodle = 1 Vote for any and all decisions regarding the DoodleBank that would be made by the DoodleDAO treasury.

There have been several opportunities for Doodles members to vote on proposals for scaling the Doodles team, organizing Doodles live events, and funding a 3D Doodles project over the past few weeks. Each proposal is given an extra level of discourse through the Doodles Forum and Discord.

The development process has resulted in fewer proposals, but initiatives are becoming more crucial to Doodles' success in the future. Leadership of the project is likely to be to blame for this, as the team has continued to set its sights on the future.

Anti Scam/Pro-Artist

The most popular project on the market, Doodles, has inspired many derivative and knockoff projects. Doodles team and Keast had already implemented an approval system within Discord for derivative projects inspired by Doodles. 1 Doodle = 1 Vote has been used directly for many Doodles projects, including Pukenza and Noodles.

There is also a scam alert channel on the Doodles server that promotes a "see something, say something" attitude. There have been a significant number of fraudulent accounts and projects reported there to date, and the channel seems to have mitigated some unapproved Doodles knockoffs and scams.

Doodles: To the moon

For months after launch, the Doodles floor price ranged from 1-5 ETH. Things began to pick up toward the end of 2021, however. A few short animations were being released at this time by Keast and the other Doodles crew members. Doodles sales soared as a result, leading to some of the largest sales to date.

When a major announcement (such as Nike acquiring RTFKT) or collector's reward is launched, it's common for projects to see an increase in purchases and trades. Doodles, however, maintained their momentum even after thWhat was your experience like? Space Doodles.eir announcement a month ago.

The original 10,000 NFTs are being taken advantage of by Cool Pets, Bored Ape Kennel Club, KingFrogs, and others, while Space Doodles takes advantage directly of the demand and expands its collector base.

In short, the Doodles team implemented an NFT swap mechanism instead of launching a new collection to complement their original NFTs collection. These spaceship-themed NFTs are stored on the Ethereum blockchain in a separate collection to distinguish them from the original NFTs.

Space Doodles, which can only be accessed by Doodles holders, were described by Castro as "non-dilutive extended content for Doodles." Castro also described the technical requirements.

Doodles as an entertainment platform

Doodles' crossover from the blockchain to the real world may be its most intriguing aspect. Doodles wants to do more than just be a PFP project. Doodles has taken numerous steps toward becoming a comprehensive Web3 entertainment company, as co-founder Keast has demonstrated multiple times.

Two immersive in-person experiences have been created by Doodles during annual NFT events. Doodles and The Heart Project collaborated on a large-scale event during Art Basel Miami 2021. Doodles' entertainment offerings at Heart Basel Miami were revealed to the NFT community. An event that was planned and executed within a short period of time included a gallery, exclusive merchandise, live music performances, and more.

Several prominent talent agents expressed interest in Doodles shortly after the event, indicating its success. Doodles is not only working on events, but also on other things. It reported that HYPEBEAST interviewed the founders about creating installations, concert merchandise, and more to bridge the gap between the web and the physical world.

NFT.NYC will be a partner of the second event, called Doodles Genesis Factory, which will take place in June 2022. Doodles' first fundraise, Doodles 2, Doodles Records, and many more upcoming Doodles initiatives were unveiled at the activation, which helped communicate the organization's desire to show up and show out.

Despite the fact that we're not sure how a web3 company might use a PFP project to accomplish all of this yet, we've heard similar sentiments from the Bored Ape Yacht Club and World of Women, two organizations managed by Guy Oseary, the manager of Madonna and U2. The same cry is now being echoed by Doodles.

The future of Doodles

It's incredible to see how far the Doodles project and its three founders have come considering their young age. There are currently around 141,000 ETH in secondaries in the collection. The Doodles collection of vibrant characters has undoubtedly won the hearts of countless NFT enthusiasts, even though they may not be a true competitor for PFP NFT, which currently holds the Bored Ape Yacht Club, which has generated over 629,000 Ethereum.

As crypto prices continue to fluctuate greatly since its conception, the Doodles project shows no signs of slowing down. Among the company's many talents is former Billboard President Julian Holguin, who has been appointed CEO, and none other than Pharrell Williams, who is Chief Branding Officer.

In addition to Doodles Web3's continued growth, its initiatives have also grown. There are a number of things that the Doodles community can look forward to in the near future.

Doodles Fundraise

The first round of funding for Doodles was announced by Alexis Ohanian's venture capital firm 776 Management in summer 2022. As well as the announcement of Katelin Holloway joining the Doodles board, the partnership inherently seemed robust, even without the amount of financing disclosed.

In fact, it was. Upon announcing Doodles' first funding round in September 2022, it was evident that the round was a great success. For Doodles, 776 joined forces with 10T Holdings, Acrew Capital, and FTX Ventures to raise $54 million. Holloway believes that these funds will allow Doodles to "empower us to create content more effectively and unlock the value of NFTs," according to September's announcement.

By pursuing opportunities in the music, culture, and entertainment industries, Doodles is well on its way to becoming a truly global IP. What makes Doodles possible is blockchain technology. Using blockchain technology to reimagine storytelling, Doodles is changing how people connect and interact, Holloway said.

Doodles 2

This might be the biggest chapter in Doodles' history, along with Space Doodles. In addition to launching the companion project, Doodles also appears to be launching a totally new initiative to attract more enthusiasts.

The blockchain for Doodles 2 is likely to be entirely different. It is hoped that this decision will allow Doodles to reach greater mass adoption, even though it hasn't yet been approved.

Doodles 2 will offer a base-level Doodle, generic traits like hair color and skin tone, and wearables of varying rarities that customize your Doodle. With Doodles 2, the NFT's appearance can be modified at any time, PFP perspectives can be swapped, and an animated version, with original music, can be unlocked.

This is the day. Doodles 2's wearables economy will also be seeded by this NFT box, which will house the Doodles Genesis Box. It was unveiled at the aforementioned Genesis Factory. It holds the first-edoodles 2. A bucket auction was used to launch the full collection of boxes, which contained 24,000 NFTs.

Doodles Records

Doodles enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy a new segment of the overarching brand Doodles along with Doodles Records. In addition to original music produced by Pharrell, hand-drawn album artwork by Scott Martin, and wearables, Doodles Records: Volume 1 features original music produced by Pharrell. Music from Columbia Records will be featured in the first volume of the collaboration, which owners of Doodles 2 will be able to layer into their animated NFTs.

Dooplicator

A mysterious aspect of the Doodles ecosystem is the Dooplicator, according to Doodles' Twitter account. NFTs are a way for collectors to transfer the most important aspects of the original Doodles to Doodles 2, making them a sort of dealer's choice.

The slow burn of Doodles

Doodles has been known (in some cases) to leave their community hanging despite the hype cycle of price increases and celebrities joining the Doodles community. As it turns out, Doodles are more than happy to remain silent until they have something to say, whereas the rest of the NFT community has grown accustomed to biweekly announcements and teasers.

However, despite sentiments, it is clear that Doodles intends to take their community on wild rides over the next few years. Millions of dollars are sitting in the Doodle bank, and a major fundraise is about to begin, which means the Doodle team has more than recouped their initial investment of $1.5 million.

What are Gas Fees and How Can We Fix Them?

Blockchain transactions were very affordable prior to 2020. With the rise of Web3 & NFTs, mandatory blockchain transaction charges -- also known by gas fees -- are now the greatest barrier to mainstream adoption. Network congestion is what determines the gas price for blockchains like Bitcoin or Ethereum. The network congestion is the reason why the gas fees are higher for more people. Web3's ethos of inclusivity and democracy means that this fundamental scaling problem largely challenges those core tenants. Although gas can seem quite simple in concept, it can be quite complicated under the hood. This explanation explains gas fees and how they work. It also explains what Ethereum and other Blockchains can do to make them cheaper. What's a gas charge?   Gas fees, as defined in our dictionary are payments made to complete transactions on a blockchain. These fees are paid to blockchain miners to cover the computing power required to verify transactions on blockchain. These

What the Proposed Crypto Bill Could Mean for NFTs
