Shand talked more about his ideas of his vision for Digital Pressing format in an Instagram post that emphasized the format as a way to broaden the scope of the album release cycle for artists around the world. Digital Pressings are being promoted as giving artists with the chance to present their work in a similar way to what they would do with an album on traditional vinyl without any of the disadvantages.

In addition to boasting a two-week lead time, as opposed to the six-to-nine months needed for a vinyl release Digital Pressings could also be much more eco-friendly. According to the press release from Serenade, "one average 12[-inch] vinyl has the equivalent carbon footprint of 197,100 Digital Pressings."

Leading the way for the introduction of this new format is the English rock group Muse which is set to release the ninth album of their studio The Will of the People on August 26 under the new format. For long-time Muse followers, the change will create an interesting analogy with other English rock group Radiohead which famously shattered convention when they released their long-awaited album in Rainbows through the "pay what you want" digital download.

Every Digital pressing of Will of the People -and any subsequent albums that are released in this format will count towards one album sales in the chart. In this pilot launch, sales information will appear on charts for music within Australia and the U.K. and Australian markets for music.

A Guide to Magic Eden: A Young Marketplace Making Its Mark

There is a possibility that NFTs might not have gained recognition without the Ethereum blockchain. In the early days of ETH, it appeared Vitalik Buterin's brainchild would always be the go-to platform for nonfungible token sales. However, the NFT ecosystem has expanded far beyond the scope of a single blockchain since the token craze of 2021. With new marketplaces popping up almost every quarter, NFTs are available on virtually every major chain today. In the NFT space, it can sometimes be evident which entities are running sprints and which are running marathons. There is, however, a difference between each of these platforms. What are Gas Fees and How Can We Fix Them?

Blockchain transactions were very affordable prior to 2020. With the rise of Web3 & NFTs, mandatory blockchain transaction charges -- also known by gas fees -- are now the greatest barrier to mainstream adoption. Network congestion is what determines the gas price for blockchains like Bitcoin or Ethereum. The network congestion is the reason why the gas fees are higher for more people. Web3's ethos of inclusivity and democracy means that this fundamental scaling problem largely challenges those core tenants. Although gas can seem quite simple in concept, it can be quite complicated under the hood. This explanation explains gas fees and how they work. It also explains what Ethereum and other Blockchains can do to make them cheaper. What's a gas charge?   Gas fees, as defined in our dictionary are payments made to complete transactions on a blockchain. These fees are paid to blockchain miners to cover the computing power required to verify transactions on blockchain. These ...
