Mark Zuckerberg Unveils NFT Roadmaps For Facebook & Instagram

In the world of NFTs or non-fungible currency (NFTs), there's no doubt that Mark Zuckerberg has big plans. On a panel at the SXSW Festival in March 2022, Zuckerberg said he planned to make Instagram into an NFT-dependent market.

In May, Zuckerberg started to realize his commitment to the promises. The Social Media giant Facebook began testing NFT integrations with a small group of users. At first, Zuckerberg said that Facebook would likely adopt the same approach. "Similar functionality is coming to Facebook soon," Zuckerberg declared.

The appropriate time may be nearing the end.

Yesterday and earlier (June 21st, 2022), Zuckerberg unveiled how Facebook and Instagram will "help creators build for the metaverse" in an earlier Facebook blog post. In particular, he provided an outline of roadmaps' features, which outlined the functions that will be made available to these platforms to assist creators in earning cash and earning.

At first, Zuckerberg noted that Instagram had expanded its NFT tests to enable more creators to display their crypto-related art on Instagram. In the following statement, he stated that Facebook would start with their own NFT tests with a restricted number of creators from the United States. Once the required testing is completed, Zuckerberg clarified that NFTs would be removed from users' feeds and made available on all platforms. Mainly using SparkAR, NFTs will be able to upload on Instagram Stories.

Zuckerberg said that cross-posting capabilities are set to receive an update. "We're opening up the Reels Play Bonus program to more creators on Facebook soon and letting creators cross-post their Instagram Reels to Facebook and monetize them there too," Zuckerberg explained. In addition, he added that users can cross-post NFTs from Instagram and Facebook.

Most importantly, the Instagram Marketplace is set to launch. Zuckerberg said that his teams are currently conducting experiments on"Creator Marketplace "Creator Marketplace" on Instagram. Creators will be able to "get discovered and paid", and brands can "share new partnership opportunities. "

Facebook or Instagram are not the only platforms available to connect with friends. They are also testing NFTs. In January 2022, Twitter introduced a system that lets users check their NFTs before changing them into profile pictures. However, Zuckerberg's efforts are significant because Zuckerberg isn't only keen on displaying NFTs. He wants people to make sales via his platforms. In this respect, the NFT choices are focused on the monetization of content, giving creators additional ways to earn income.

Of course, Facebook and Instagram will likely get a piece of the pie.

In a blog post published on April 11th, Meta revealed details about the tools it plans to utilize to create its VR game Horizon Worlds. In the blog article, it was said that creators would be permitted to sell digital goods, stating that Meta will take 47.5 per cent from sales. Contrary to this, most NFT marketplaces only take 2.5 per cent of every sale. Naturally, Meta's fees caused anger.

In this morning's blog post, Zuckerberg attempted to quell specific fears, declaring that Instagram and Facebook creators needn't be worried about it, at least at present. They won't start taking some of the creators' profits until 2024.
